Anxiety
Anxiety is characterized by excessive worry or anxiety about events and activities. Anxiety is a normal part of everyday life and can occurs when: faced with problems at work. before taking an exam, and when making important decisions. Sometimes anxiety is good for us as it gives us the fuel to face challenges and overcome them. Anxiety disorders, however, involve more than just that temporary worry or fear. For a person with an anxiety disorder, anxiety is always there and often gets worse over a period of time. Anxiety disorders can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, school, and relationships. There are several different types of anxiety disorders. Examples include Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder.
The anxiety and worry are associated with three (or more) of the following six symptoms (with at least some symptoms having been present for more days than not for the past 6 months): Note: Only one item required in children.
Treatment and therapy is focused around relaxation techniques and visualization exercises. Clients are encouraged to vocalize feelings of anxiety and worry through honest and open disclosure of the past, present, and future. If anxiety is controlling your life, ask for help to fight for a life you deserve symptom free.
