“The Mario Hall Project”

My brother, Mario Hall, was a community activist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (my hometown), who constantly put service of others before himself. He was: a father of three children, community activist, Deacon, and a strong leader. His various community positions included: Program Coordinator for Quality of Life Initiative, President of a Community Planning Council, and Family Liaison for Choice and Charter Schools. He believed in God, family, and the community. On September 10, 2013, my brother, Mario Hall, lost his battle with Diabetes and passed away at the age of 43 years old.

Heart Disease/Stroke is the leading cause of death of millions of Americans every year. African Americans rank high for having and dying from the Diabetes ahead of HIV/AIDS. African Americans and Hispanic Americans rank high for Heart Disease, although Cancer is now ranked slightly higher than Heart Disease for Hispanic Americans. Those who are diagnosed rarely seek or receive counseling services to voice grief and concern over their newly diagnosed status; this may attribute noncompliance with medical care. HFIHC’s priority is to reach out to minorities and low income families within the community who are unable to afford or who are not aware of the benefits of counseling services. As a pledge to my commitment, HFIHC will establish a Mario Hall Project Fund and donate 20% of all fees to this project.

The Mario Hall Project is a personal community initiative created as a tribute to my brother’s philosophy of “Giving.”. In that effort, the Healing Foundations In Home Counseling (HFIHC) will provide free counseling services to individuals and family members who have been diagnosed with a medical condition and are having difficulty coping with their condition. If you or someone you know (individual, family, or organization) is in need of free counseling services; please Send a note on the Contact Us page so that “The Mario Hall Project” can continue to serve its purpose of “Giving” in an effort to save lives within the community.
